Terms of Use
Last updated: May 15, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to your use of the Puzzling Events website. By using this site or submitting a commission enquiry, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the site.
About Puzzling Events
Puzzling Events is a professional creative studio operated by Handmation Media LLC, a limited liability company based in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. We design and deliver custom, commissioned digital puzzle and reveal experiences for personal events, creative projects, launches, and brand campaigns.
Each engagement is a one-of-a-kind professional design service tailored to the specifications of the commissioning party. Puzzling Events is not a software product, a subscription service, or a self-serve platform.
This website introduces the studio and allows prospective clients to submit an enquiry.
Nature of our service
Puzzling Events provides professional creative services, including narrative design, puzzle logic development, visual design, and the production of temporary digital experiences delivered through a microsite for the duration of the client’s event.
Any technical hosting we provide as part of an engagement is incidental to the design service, time-limited to the agreed event window, and provided so the client can present the commissioned creative work. We do not license software, grant ongoing platform access, or provide a general-purpose puzzle product.
The enquiry process
Submitting an enquiry through this website does not create a client relationship, reserve availability, secure a date, or guarantee that Puzzling Events will accept the project.
We may choose, in our sole discretion, whether to respond to, quote, decline, or accept any enquiry. A project only begins after we and the prospective client have agreed in writing on scope, timing, price, and any other required terms.
Separate project agreement
Paid work will be handled through a separate proposal, invoice, statement of work, service agreement, or other written confirmation signed by both parties (the “Project Agreement”).
That Project Agreement will control the actual project terms, including scope, payment, timeline, revisions, deliverables, ownership, usage rights, hosting duration, confidentiality, warranties, and cancellation. In the event of any conflict between these Terms of Use and a signed Project Agreement, the Project Agreement will control for that engagement.
Independent contractor
If a Project Agreement is signed, Puzzling Events will be engaged as an independent contractor. Nothing in these Terms of Use or in any future Project Agreement creates an employer-employee, joint venture, partnership, franchise, or agency relationship between you and Puzzling Events. Neither party may bind the other or hold itself out as authorized to do so.
Website content and intellectual property
The text, design, images, graphics, logos, layouts, examples, and other materials on this site (the “Site Content”) belong to Puzzling Events, Handmation Media LLC, or their licensors unless otherwise stated. All rights are reserved.
You may view and share the site for normal personal or business evaluation. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, modify, distribute, sell, license, or present the Site Content as your own work without our prior written permission.
The names “Puzzling Events” and “Handmation Media” are protected. You may not use them, or any confusingly similar name, without our prior written permission.
Submitted materials
You retain ownership of any materials, ideas, information, and details you submit through the enquiry form (“Submitted Materials”). They remain yours.
By submitting them, you simply give us permission to review and evaluate the Submitted Materials so we can:
- respond to your enquiry
- understand and consider the proposed project
- prepare a proposal or estimate
This permission is limited to those purposes. It is not a license to use, publish, or build on your materials. If we go ahead with a project, how your materials and any commissioned work may be used will be set out clearly in the Project Agreement, and nothing here grants us rights beyond reviewing your enquiry.
You should only submit materials you have the right to share. By submitting names, stories, photos, audio, video, music, artwork, brand assets, or other content, you confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for us to receive and review those materials, and that doing so will not infringe the rights of anyone else.
If we accept the project, ownership and usage rights of any commissioned deliverables will be addressed in the Project Agreement.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to this website will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us, if any, for use of this website itself in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
These limits apply regardless of the legal theory of the claim and to the maximum extent permitted by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits, in which case those limits will apply only to the extent permitted.

These Terms of Use, and any dispute arising out of or related to them or your use of this website, are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Any action or proceeding arising out of or related to these terms or this website must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington County, Oregon, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
